The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra respects your privacy. This privacy statement tells you what data we collect when you use our website, apply for a job or buy tickets from us, and how we handle these data.
We respect your interests and wishes. As a customer, you can always keep your contact preferences up to date via your account. This way you will only receive information from us that you find important.

Antwerp Symphony Orchestra asbl, located at Carnotstraat 10 in 2060 Antwerp, is the responsible party for processing your personal data.
When processing personal data, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra complies with applicable laws and regulations, including the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of 25 May 2018.

Purchasing tickets or using Antwerp Symphony Orchestra services - including the website - implies that you agree to this privacy statement.

Legal grounds for processing

Personal data are processed on the basis of article 6.1. a) consent, b) necessary for the performance of a contract and f) necessary for the fulfilment of our legitimate interest to undertake the General Data Protection Regulation.

Insofar as the processing of personal data takes place on the basis of article 6.1. a) consent, you always have the right to withdraw the consent given.

Purposes of processing

Your personal data are processed for the purpose of operating the website, analysing your visit, sending newsletters, maintaining relations, processing requests and orders for goods and services including ticketing and room hire and the associated processing and further follow-up.

Which personal data do we process?

If you order tickets and/or subscriptions on www.antwerpsymphonyorchestra.be, at our ticket desk, by e-mail or by phone, request a quote, register to receive our newsletters, magazines or brochures, if you come to apply for a job or send us an e-mail for more information, you will be asked to provide some personal data. These data are used to provide our services, to process your order or to handle your request.

The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra may process the following personal data: surname and first name, address details, date of birth, gender, telephone number, e-mail address, preferred language, billing details and login, or other personal data or preferences that you actively provide us with.

When applying for jobs, the following personal data are processed: surname and first name, date of birth, e-mail and postal address, telephone number, possibly a photo and a CV and accompanying cover letter. Personal data of job applicants are only used for recruitment purposes. These data are not used for marketing purposes and are not exchanged with third parties.

This website also uses cookies. A cookie is a small file sent by the website and stored by your browser. We only use Google Analytics cookies to consult anonymous usage statistics of this website. Our ticket website also uses a cookie to save your login status and your shopping basket during your visit to our website. You can disable cookies via your browser, but keep in mind that certain functionalities of the website will no longer work.

What choices can you make about how we use your data? How can you manage or delete your data?

You always have the right to inspect your personal data and you can amend them (or have them amended) if they are incorrect or incomplete, or have them deleted. Via your account and via a link at the bottom of each mailing you always have the possibility to modify your data yourself or to manage your contact preferences for receiving newsletters, e-mails, magazines and brochures. You can also always unsubscribe from our e-mails at the bottom of each e-mail.

If you wish to have your data completely deleted, please contact us at privacy@antwerpso.be. We will then remove your data from our systems.

Use of mood images for marketing purposes

During our concerts and events, general mood images are regularly taken of the audience. These atmospheric images may be used by the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra for marketing purposes. You can object to this by sending an e-mail to privacy@antwerpso.be.

The use of personal data for marketing purposes

The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra uses personal data for marketing purposes. We regularly send information about our current programming, both on paper and electronically. You can subscribe or unsubscribe to these at any time.

  • Newsletters by e-mail: 1 to 2 times a month. You can easily subscribe or unsubscribe from your account. We send newsletters based on your purchases, when you subscribe or when you are an important contact for the organisation. You will always find the option to unsubscribe at the bottom of each newsletter or send an e-mail to privacy@antwerpso.be.
  • Magazine by post: 4 times per season. The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra sends a paper magazine by post four times a season on the basis of registration, recent concert attendance (up to two seasons ago) or if you are an important contact for the organisation. You can unsubscribe at any time by changing your contact preferences via your account or by sending an e-mail to privacy@antwerpso.be.
  • Brochures by post: The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra sends several paper brochures every year (e.g. the season brochure, Flex brochure and 2x2). You will receive these brochures based on your registration, your concert attendance (up to 5 seasons ago) or when you are an important contact for the organisation. You can always unsubscribe from postal mailings by adjusting your contact preferences via your account or by sending an e-mail to privacy@antwerpso.be.
  • Practical info-mail: A few days before each concert (for which you bought a ticket) you will receive an e-mail with all necessary practical information regarding your concert visit.
How will your data be stored and secured?

Your data is stored and kept in highly secure data centres managed by our suppliers of the used ticketing, IT, planning or ERP system.

We keep your data for up to 5 years for marketing purposes or until you withdraw your consent. For job applications, your personal data will be kept in the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra database for up to 2 years after the procedure.

Passing on to third parties

We may provide the data you provide to us to third parties if this is necessary for the performance of the purposes or services described above. For example, we use a third party for:

  • Taking care of our internet environment (hosting)
  • Taking care of our IT infrastructure
  • Taking care of our ticketing system

Naturally, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra will make the necessary arrangements with these parties (processors) to guarantee the security of your personal data.

Furthermore, we do not pass on the provided data to third parties, unless this is required by law or you give your explicit permission.

In case of co-productions of concerts, the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra may occasionally share personal data with one of its partners in order to provide the requested services (such as scanning your ticket), but never for marketing purposes.

Permanent partners of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra include De Singel and Opera Ballet Vlaanderen.

Questions or complaints

If you have any questions, comments or complaints about the use of your personal data, if you wish to unsubscribe from the newsletter and/or from brochures or magazines, if you do not wish to be filmed or photographed during your visit to our concerts, or if you have any other questions about the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra's privacy policy, please email privacy@antwerpso.be.

Privacy policy changes

The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra reserves the right to modify this privacy statement at any time and will publish the changes on its website at www.antwerpsymphonyorchestra.be. The amendments will take effect immediately after publication. The date of the last modification is always shown at the bottom of this page.
